COACH

Biography - Discography

The Beginning

What began as free styles at parties just for kicks became more of a passion for Coach. His friend would always make him freestyle, and the crowd would enjoy what Coach had to say. As time went on Coach would freestyle in chat rooms which is where he began to write. Furthermore, he decided that he wanted to do music from scratch; making beats to writing his own lyrics, Coachformed something not only for himself but for those around him. As his passion grew he began to record other artists. The original Phunkthouse included ‘Stump’, ‘St. Jerome’ and ‘Coach’. As the ability to make music grew so did members of Phunkthouse (A2daJ, Stump, Mc Fade, Cali, St Jerome, Robin Banx, J-Dub, G$, Sketch, Lakai), people began coming into the group and being able to record their own music. Coach gave other artists the opportunity to record, and a place to be able to put their own passions on CD. In addition the group began booking concerts and shows throughout Arizona. If there is something you would ever want to see, it is Coach on stage making the crowds come alive, one lyric at a time. As Ryan’s inspirations grew to a more personal level he realized that he didn’t want to be the basic ‘rapper’ singing about drugs, material possessions and women. He wanted to do more, and he wanted to reach out.

Growing Passion

Coach’s passion grew into a goal of helping one person, and today, Coach states, “It is fulfilling, if I reach just one person through my music, I do this for myself, but if that one person sits down to listen to my words, it begins like a book, chapter by chapter of my life.” Although the tides of change have closed the doors on Phunkthouse, Coach continues his saga through Desert Reign Productions which was started with Confession to keep the music going. However, one thing has changed; once being a freestyle artist; Coach has become the man that sings about real life things, real life events, personal trials, tribulations and the events that have helped shape him into the artist he has become today. He was recently told by somebody “I don’t like rap or hip-hop but I do like what you have to say.” A compliment Coach doesn’t take lightly and the goal Coach strives to create through his music- to reach just one person. His biggest inspiration in music history is Tupac. He stated, “He had a song about everything.” Coach states that, “Maybe it’s selfish on my part to want to do everything myself.”

Live for Today: Without Regret

Coach continues to make music, he writes lyrics as they come to him. He refers to his moments of writing as therapy sessions- as a way for him to be able to release feelings, emotions and what’s on his mind and turn it into something amazing for others to listen to. He doesn’t dream of being on tour or making it big within the music industry, he does plan to take one day at a time as it comes to him, he doesn’t prepare for the future, he rather lives for today and lives in the moment of where life leads him. His motto is: “Whatever happens is how it is supposed to be, I don’t look to where I want to go, but I am where I am meant to be.” In one hand he is an inspiring and starving artist looking to make the difference through his lyrics to reach out to people who find themselves in the same situations Coach has been in. Coach reaches out in making a difference for those around him, continuously inspiring, motivating, and encouraging people that there is good in every bad situation and anything is possible. In the other hand, he is a normal guy, supporting his family, he believes wholly in living without regret and is working on the next chapter of his life as it unfolds.
